Speedway National Night Out: Tuesday 8/6

The Speedway Police Department is inviting residents of Speedway to join members of the Department in celebrating National Night Out crime prevention event. The event, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, brings over 38.1 million people in more than 16,540 communities together to promote the partnership between the police and the community. The event will encourage crime, drug and violence prevention, safety, and neighborhood unity. Citizens across America can send a powerful message about neighborhood unity, awareness, safety, and police-community partnerships. Let criminals know that the Town of Speedway is united and dedicated to building a safer, more caring community. Please join the members of the Speedway Police and Fire Departments for the event to be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019, in Leonard Park from 6-8PM.

Highlights of the National Night Out event will include free food and drinks provided by area merchants (while supplies last), police demos, and information about various anticrime initiatives. We’ll also have music, kids’ activities, information booths from public safety-related organizations, civic groups, town departments, and much more!

Great Turnout for 2016 Speedway National Night Out

The Speedway Police Department’s National Night Out was held on Tuesday October 11, 2016. We were again blessed with great weather, resulting in a nice turnout from the Speedway community. We were glad to see you all!

We hope there was something for everyone to enjoy – music, food, games, great door prizes, helpful information from our vendors and public safety partners, and most importantly, a chance to talk to and get to know your first responders from the Speedway Police and Fire Departments. Thanks to all who signed the “Thank You First Responders” card, which was given to SPD and SFD.

The Speedway Police Department would like to express their appreciation to everyone who volunteered to help with National Night Out, whether they be Citizens Academy Class 7, Alumni, or VIP.

Also thank you to all the sponsors for their generous gifts and support that made the evening possible. The Town of Speedway is so fortunate to have individuals that care about Public Safety, quality of life, and Community Policing. The support and dedication is truly a benefit to SPD and the Town.

National Night Out reflects who we are as a community and should make us all proud. Thank you to all.

There are only a few more days until the Speedway Police Department’s National Night Out event, to be held next Tuesday 10/11 from 5:30 – 7:30 at Meadowood Park!2016-nno-flyer

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of fun, information, and positive community-police partnerships.

In addition to a number of information booths, including public safety related and health providers, we will have FREE food & beverages, as well as a variety of kids games & prizes, and those in attendance can obtain a door prize ticket (one per attendee, please) for a chance to win some great prizes!

A BIG thank you to the Fundraising Committee of the Speedway Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association for their efforts and to the donors for their generous support for this event!

Speedway National Night Out – Blood Drive

blood-driveThe Speedway Police Department is interested in hosting a blood drive with the Indiana Blood Center during our National Night Out event on Tuesday, October 11 from 5:30-7:30 PM.

In order to host it, we need a 12-16 people to commit to donating blood during the event. If you would do so, please complete the form at the link below so we can plan accordingly.

If we have enough people who commit, we will follow up with a sign up for a specific time.

Great Turnout for Speedway National Night Out!

We’d like to say THANK YOU to everyone who attended our Speedway National Night Out event. We had beautiful weather, and a great turnout from the Speedway community and hope you all enjoyed some food, bounce houses, face painter, great prizes, plus lots of great public safety and civic information, and of course….building community-police relationships!

Also, many thanks to all participants, donors & sponsors – as well as volunteers from Neighborhood Watch, Citizens Academy, and Volunteers in Policing and the Speedway Police Department! It couldn’t have happened without all of you!

Speedway PD’s National Night Out Event Tuesday 10/6!

A reminder that the Speedway Police Department’s National Night Out event will be held this coming Tuesday, October 6th from 6-8 PM in Meadowood Park. Despite a very chilly and rainy day yesterday, the weather forecast this week appears to be bright, sunny and warm – and we hope all of you will come out and join us!

We’ll have free food (while supplies last), and the kids will enjoy our Kids Zone – with bounce houses and a face painter! For the adults we’ll have lots of great prize giveaways throughout the evening, ranging from coupons for free pizza, oil changes, and loads of restaurant gift cards!

Visit many of our public safety partners’ displays, as well as civic organizations. The Speedway Police Department will have K-9 demos at 6:30 and 7:30.
